TeA TiMe

After water, tea is the second most consumed drink in the world. Loaded with flavonoids, antioxidants, and other healthy goodies tea is the perfect refreshment for your health and well being. Legend has it that a Chinese Emperor back in 2737 BC was sitting under a tree boiling water when a few leaves fell into his pot. He tasted this and found it to be delicious. In 1840 "Tea time" was introduced by the Duchess of England Anna, to ward off hunger between meal times. Apparently back than you ate a late breakfast around 11 and a late dinner around 8. Oh how times have changed. Now days there are thousands of teas to choose from and you can eat whenever you like. It is also no longer only for the rich and powerful. Remember the Boston Tea Party?  Now over 80% of households carry this beverage. Who knew there was so much history behind Tea? I love History and I love Tea!! Some of my favorite brands include Yogi, Stash, Celestial and Bigelow. Sometimes I mix my teas together or add almond milk and honey. A good home made Chai tea is also one of my favorites if not my most favorite ;) I enjoy herbal tea as well as real tea. Real tea is made from the leaves of a plant called Camellia Sinensis. Depending on how this plant is processed will depend on if your tea is black, white, green or oolong tea. TEA GUIDE   http://www.octaviatea.com/pages/tea-guide.html Tea can help with stress, depression, weight gain, immune system deficiency, and a ton other medical related issues.(look it up) Not too mention what it does for your skin and the aging process. We all know getting older sucks. With all this said, tea just makes you happy. So if your not drinking it you should be, and thank you for reading enjoy your morning ;)

A Little Denim Vest That Goes With Anything

Paired with white skinny jeans
The past 2 days have been absolutely freezing, but next week it's suppose to be in the seventies! I love Colorado :) Iv'e noticed so many people starting to wear denim vests this fall. Not just wearing them but actually looking cute as hell while doing it! This sparked me to go on the search for a denim vest. I always do this to myself, i'll see the cutest piece and decide I need just that or my closet isn't complete.

Paired with black skinny Jeans
You can call me Carrie Bradshaw:)  I literally love my closet! If you have been keeping up with my blog you know I love consignment shopping. I always find such good deals and the perfect pieces. That is how I found my denim vest. As I was finishing up dropping off some unwanted clothes at a consignment shop I noticed a manikin with a denim vest and a long sleeved white shirt under it. I am notorious for having people take clothes off manikins for me, it turns out we're the same size! Well the vest fit perfect, and it can be styled so many different ways. These days you can Google, Pintrest or even Tumblr " ways to wear a denim vest " and a million different ideas will come up.
Paired with Little Black skirt
Paired with white skinny jeans
You can literally pair a denim vest with anything! Jeans, shorts, skirts, (long or short) t shirts, sweaters, dresses, blouses, stripes, solids, anything! style it with a scarf, jewelry, maybe a hat! It's not just for the ladies either. Guys you could also pull this off. I think Fashion is about what YOU like. Style yourself up or down, whatever you do have fun with it and feel great!! Get a denim vest your closet will thank you, and I thank you for reading :)

Himalayan Salt Lamps

The first time I saw these big glowing chunks of salt I was so intrigued I had to find out what they were used for. Salt lamps are natural negative ion generators. http://wellnessmama.com/23569/himalayan-salt-lamp-benefits/ They have been known for purifying the air and some say they can even prevent cancer! These negative ions neutralize electromagnetic radiation from household electronics, and prevent the build up of static electricity. It is good to have both negative and positive ions in the air!
The negative salt ions are released when the salt lamp starts to sweat. They combine with the positive ions from all of our electronics and begin to cleanse the air. This can boost blood flow, improve sleep, increase levels of serotonin in the brain, and calm allergy or asthma symptoms. They also improve overall mood, reduce stress, and improve performance! Not to mention they add a nice natural calming glow to any room you put it in. Typically salt lamps range from $15.00 to $150.00 depending on how big the lamp is and where you want to purchase it from. http://www.himalayansaltshop.com/salt-lamp-buying-guide.html  Both of mine only cost me $30.00 and I have them plugged in and on 24/7. I absolutely love them!!! I will probably end up buying one more :) Look into it!

Hydrating Hair mask

My hair is constantly taking a beating. From the crazy weather, to throwing it up for work, to styling it for a photo shoot I just can't seem to not touch my hair. It doesn't help that where I live is a little more on the dry side, causing my hair to have more split ends than normal. I try not to wash my hair too often, I don't want to loose natural oils so I usually only wash it every 3   days. My hair actually styles better that way so it works out. If I want to style my hair in between washes i'll use dry shampoo.(klorane Dry Shampoo) http://www.kloraneusa.com/

It's important to hydrate your hair and give it a break when your not working or going about daily activities. Once a month I love to apply a hydrating mask made with coconut oil all over my scalp and hair from roots to ends. I use a comb to help evenly distribute all the oil. Leave this on for about 30 min and then wash it out. It's not like olive oil or other heavy hair masks that leave you looking like a grease ball. Coconut oil completely washes out with just one wash. I use a raw unrefined coconut oil you can find at any store. (Refined Vs Unrefined Coconut)  http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/refined-vs-unrefined-coconut-oil-2296.html This coconut mask will leave you feeling like you just left the hair salon. Refreshing, clean and light :) Try this at home, twice a month for extreme dry conditions.

An Boho Urban Photoshoot

With fall approaching fast and so many great photo shoot ideas all I can do is try and shoot with as many photographers as possible! Recently I have been trying to expand and build my modeling portfolio. I didn't always aspire to be a model but after a photographer contacted me through Instagram wanting to do a TFP photo shoot I had to give it a try. The Pictures turned out amazing and since than I have decided to give modeling a shot. What do I have to loose? Nothing. Why not try? Why not do what most people would think to be impossible? I have branched out through Instagram, Facebook. and word of mouth to find photographers willing to do a TFP (time for print shoot) shoots. The feed back I have gotten so far has been wonderful. I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing people so far and i'm just getting started :) This weekend I found myself heading to Denver to work with a Mr. Terrance Parker. This guy was GREAT!!! We started off doing a few casual Urban and Boho looks but by the end of it everything was going so great we were able to sporadically shoot a little number he had been wanting to do with his Charger. Yes his car! This was new to me I had never even considered this type of shoot. We were able to get quite a few good shots and I learned a lot about what I do and don't like. Now most of the pieces needed for the idea of these Boho/Urban shoots I already had in my closet but I was missing a few things. Like the perfect pair of ripped blue jean and a pair of black boots!

The Ultimate Homemade Cold Pressed Juice

I've been vegetarian now for a little over three years! Four years ago I wouldn't have thought I would be able to give up the everyday foods and eat a diet that consists of mostly plants and fresh fruit. Sitting here now i'm glad I chose to do my research and look into, because I feel better than ever. Eating clean has changed my body, skin, and hair. Along with eating awesome delicious foods I like to make a juice every once in a while. My go to is Apple, Carrot Ginger and I add a few extra things.
When making a juice you should probably aim for 20 min to a half hour depending on how fast or slow you do things. You don't want to accidentally cut yourself trying to rush off to work, school or whatever it is your doing for the day. You will need a juicer ( I have a Breville ) Juicers can run anywhere from $30-$300 depending on how into this you want to get. For my recipe (you can tweak this as you learn and start to juice more) you will need...

10-12 Organic Carrots (peeled to enhance sweetness)
  1 Celery Stalk
  2-3 Cucumbers
4-5 apples ( different kinds for different sweetness)
1 pineapple core ( I always save these for juicing)
  1 Lemon
  1 Lime
1-2 decent sized chunks of ginger (bottom right photo)

Once you have all of your ingredients washed, peeled and ready to be juiced grab a half glass of water to wash down all ingredients that may be stuck in juicer at the very end. When juicing juice slow don't try to force too much at one time. When it comes to ginger you can add spinach to wrap it and put between 2 apples or just juice it with the lemon or lime between two apples. Your trying to get the most out of the ginger as possible! It is amazing for your body! When your done your juice will layer (left photo) mix it back and forth between two pitchers and once it is mixed store for later. I like to keep mine in mason jars for a day before drinking so it's nice and cold. There are so many health benefits to juicing fresh fruits and vegetables. It's a great way to add nutrients to your body and these fresh fruits and vegetables have minerals and vitamins that can help fight against cardiovascular disease, cancer and many other inflammatory diseases.  http://www.doctoroz.com/article/healing-properties-juicing I encourage you to look into juicing and eating a cleaner diet! Your mind, body and soul will thank you for it :)

BoHo BeAuTiFuL

It's the third of September, and it's been one month since I have discovered Boho Beautiful
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWN2FPlvg9r-LnUyepH9IaQ on YouTube. This channel has been my go to for inspiration and motivation when it comes to working out. Juliana and her husband have started this channel to help inspire people to start living while traveling around the world and making inspiring videos. Like the law of attraction, the decisions you make today will define your tomorrow. I am happy to say that after 4 weeks of doing all of her different Pilates and yoga videos along with a clean diet, I am definitely starting to see results. I feel better, stronger and more tone than ever. As some of you know I am already vegan and will continue to eat healthy. Finding a way to get back into a routine work out mode is sometimes hard. BoHo Beautiful just makes it easier. Her videos are a tough workout, but without pushing your body outside it's comfort zone you will never see results. Not only does she offer Pilates and yoga videos she also has videos on gratitude and learning to live your dream. These are a few of my favorites.
