      Double denim is a trend that's been around for decades and won't be going away anytime soon. Most people think that wearing too much denim at once is a no no, however if worn correctly it can be really cute. The trick to getting this look right is all in the individual pieces you choose. The best rule of thumb for denim on denim is to make sure the washes and colors are completely different. This means pairing a light washed denim top with a darker blue, black, or grey bottom. You can do it the opposite way but I find darker colors to be more slimming on the bottom verses the top.

         Another thing to pay attention to when matching denim is how your clothes are fitting. You want them to fit you almost perfectly, denim tends to look better fitted. Try to avoid pairing tight fitted shirts with baggy jeans or vice versa, it just doesn't look right. The best thing about double denim is when worn right it looks good on both men and woman. I recently bought the cutest long sleeve denim shirt and have been loving how easily it pairs with anything from jeans to shorts to dresses.
